Favorite Things about Fool's Gold!!

 I have loved the Fool's Gold Series since I read book 1, Chasing Perfect, when I read about Charity Jones when she came to Fool's Gold.  I was hooked.  I could not wait until I read all of the books.  But, why?  Here are my 5 favorite things about Fool's Gold

1. The People (Who's Who in Fool's Gold?)

2. The Town


3. The Mayor, Masha Tilson
I want to know how she knows everything in her town.  Think about it.  Does she have her town bugged?  No!  She reminds me of Gibbs of NCIS.  He knows everything that goes on with everyone on his team.  Mmm! 

4. The Festivals

5. The Lake
I love going to our lake to have a picnic, to get great photos of the kids, to have the kids play, etc.

Chasing Perfect: Fool's Gold Book #1

Chasing Perfect by Susan Mallery is Book #1 in the Fool's Gold Series.  I thought I would take this time to introduce the books in the beginning of the series for those who have not read any of the books or for those who have read it & want to re-read it again.  If you have not read this series, you can start here or anywhere in the series.  Susan Mallery wrote this series as Stand Alone books so you do not have to read them in order. 

I love Fool's Gold. I wish the town was real.  I could really use the town people's help getting my house in order.  Unpacking boxes & organizing!!  Helping me when my kids are sick like now I have Noah sick & I need milk, cereal, etc.

I love the surprises that happen to Charity Jones since she arrived in Fool's Gold. I love reading a book series. You get to know more about the characters in the previous books. I always look forward to reading any new books that Susan Mallery writes for this great series.

In Chasing Perfect, what did Charity & Josh name their baby? Why?

Charity & Josh named their Fiona in honor of Fool’s Gold.  Fiona was the name of the youngest daughter of Ronan and Ciara McGee, the town founders. Fifi Lane was named after her.  The Founders named the streets after their 10 children. (Click here to read about the history of Fool’s Gold.)  

In Almost Perfect, what are the names of Liz nieces & her son?  Why did she not tell Ethan about their son?

Liz's nieces' names are Melissa & Abby Sutton.  Her son's name is Tyler.  Liz did not tell Ethan about their son because when she went to tell him, he was in bed with another woman & the other time his wife did not tell him she was by.  

In Finding Perfect, what did Pia & Raoul name their twins?  What is their older boy's name that they adopted?

Pia & Raoul named the twins Adelina & Rosabel (Rose) Moreno.  

In Only Mine, what was Dakota diagnosed with, what was she told about that, & do you believe that? Who did Dakota meet?  Why did Finn come to Fool's Gold?

Dakota was diagnosed with endometriosis & she was told she could not have children.  No, I do not believe that. Dakota met Finn.  Finn came to Fool's Gold because his twin brothers (Sasha & Stephen Anderson) came for the reality show that was being filmed in Fool's Gold.  

In Only Yours, What is Montana finally doing with her life?  Who does she meet & what does he do?  

Montana is training therapy dogs.  She met Simon, who is a Pediatric burn specialist.  

In Only His, Nevada is the only one of her sisters not engaged.  How would this make you feel?  Nevada has her dream job, but her boss is her old love.  Could you work for your old love? 

If my triplets were both engaged except for me, I would be sad, lonely, & left out.  I know I could not work for my old love.  The one I can not stand.  If my husband read this, he would know which one I am taking about.  I mean I can not STAND him.  I have other words for him, but we will leave it at that.  He did try to get me to be his friend on Facebook as if I would accept that.  My husband is friends with him.  Oh, Shawn knows him.  They went to school together.  I did not know this until the one day (Halloween) I answered his door & guess who was there?  He was trying to talk my future husband out of marrying me.  Nice isn't he?  Shawn did not listen to him.  He turned it around on him. So, no I could never work for him.  

In Only Us, What does Carina Fiore do for a living & what does she do for the veterinarian? What is the veterianian's name & his daughter's name?

Carina Fiore is a Pet Groomer &  she gets the veterinarian's daughter, Kaitlyn, on the bus, etc.  The veterinarian's name is Cameron McKenize.

In Almost Summer, What does Paige McLean do for Montana & Simon?  Who does she fall in love with?

Paige takes in Alistair that has Measles & he can not stay with Montana & Simon since she is pregnant.  

In Summer Days,Why did Rafe did not want to return to Fool's Gold?  How did Heidi meet Rafe & was she happy about it?  Did you feel bad for Heidi or Rafe about the situation they were in?  How does that feel to have someone like Rafe threaten her home? Do you believe that what Glen did was wrong?  Why?  How does Heidi know Rita?  Were you on Team Heidi or Team Rafe? Why?  Did you love the ending? Why?

Rafe did not want to return to Fool's Gold because of what happened in his childhood.  His father died when he was really young, leaving his mother to care for him, his sister, & brothers.  He helped, but they were poor.  The town helped & he was embarassed.  He swear he would never return.  Heidi met Rafe when Athena got lose & block Rafe's car.  She was not happy once she knew who he was.  I feel bad for Heidi since she finally has a home of her own.  If I had someone like Rafe threaten my home, I would feel scared & I would do anything to protect me & my family.  I do believe that what Glen did was very wrong.  He stole from Rafe's mother, May.  Heidi knows Rita by being in the Circus when she was growing up with her grandfather.  I am on Team Heidi because we need to stick together & a home is very important.  Rafe just wants to win at all cost & does not care, who gets hurt.  I love the ending because Heidi took a chance on love.  She went to his office, made a fool of herself, & how they told each other they loved each other.  

In Summer Nights, What does Annabelle do for the first time in her life?  Who shows up to tell her something that she had no idea & she is not very happy?  What is the horse's name that follows Annabelle around?  What has May been up to?  What does Shane do?Do you like Annabelle's ex husband?  Are you surprised about Charlie's past?

Second stop....Moving We Go!

We are in Fool's Gold, CA!!!  WHOO HOO!!  We have been here for awhile!  We have been busy unpacking, unpacking, & unpacking.  lol.

Last week we decided to get some photos up on the wall.  I used a technique that I have seen in blogs before.  I wished I kept the link to share with you, but if you see this on a blog, please share.  We outline the photo frame with paper then we taped them up on the wall where we wanted them to be hang.  

Of course, we moved them a few times before we got them in the positions where we wanted them.  We used packing paper, which we have plenty of.  This is definitely the way to go.  No nails being put into the wall without using them.  Shawn put the nails up for us.  We hang the photos up.

                         I really like how the wall turned out!  What do you think?

I plan to add a baby picture for each of the kids on top of their school picture (Ethan has a regular picture on the wall).  I also want to add some vinyl words like love or something else around the photos.

Ethan was mad about something, but I can not remember why.  I had to share this picture because he is so darn Cute!!

Goats Surfing!

The other day I checked my email & I don't normally check every email, but this one something called to me.  The email was from Care2?  Have you heard of them?  

What does this email have to do with Fool's Gold?  Everything!!  It had a Goat surfing.  Yes, you read that correcting!

When I saw this video, I thought of Fool's Gold right away. I thought of Heidi taking Athena (I am not the best speller) to Hawaii to get her surfing to raise funds for something for the library!!

Fireman

We were not been in a new home long.  It wass a Wednesday night.  Shawn was at work.  I put the boys to bed.  Ashleigh is on the floor where my & Shawn's room is.  The boys' rooms are up on the 3rd floor.  

Noah came down to get me.  He looked panic!  Noah was saying "Ethan locked his door!"  I called Shawn at work & told him what happened (these things always happen when he is at work).  This is his mom's house.  We have keys for the door.  I went to get the keys while Noah stayed outside the door talking with Ethan.  

Noah & I were trying to get Ethan to open the door himself, but he could not do it himself.  He locked the door himself.  

I tried EVERY key in that lock.  None worked.  I told Shawn.  I called Sandy, a friend, that lived close to me.  Her, her husband, & brother in law was giving me tips on what to do.  They give me the non-emergency number for the fire department.  I had no choice, but to call the fire department.  I can not remember how long we were in the house.  I do not think we were there long.  I think 2 weeks!

The fire department sent a big truck.  I was thinking a small rescue truck, but nope a big truck.  The fireman was nice.  He was able to get the door open & get to Ethan.  Do you know what Ethan was doing?  Sleeping.  So cute.  

I thanked the fireman!

I wonder what it would had been like if it had been Charlie coming to help me.  I was calm.  I knew the Fireman would get Ethan out.  With everything we have been though, this was nothing.

Let's Talk About Fool's Gold Part 2

I posted this earlier & I wanted to post my answers to these questions tonight.  It has been crazy today.  I will have the rest of the answers up in a week or 2.  


Would you want to move to Fool's Gold? Why? What would it be like to live in Fool's Gold, CA?
I would love to move to Fool's Gold because the town people help each other.  I think it would be nice having people helping you when you are in the hospital or just need help.  I know I could use some help!

My Favorite book is Summer Nights!

What character are you mostly like?
I think I am most like Dakota.  I think I am also like Pia in the organizational skills.  I would love to be like Liz, too, because I want to write a book or 2.  Details about these books are being kept private right now.

There is so many Festivals in Fool's Gold.

Summer Nights is a great summer read.  I love that Annabelle wanted to learn how to ride a horse for her fundraiser for her bookmobile that she cares so much about.  I don't want to give away anything.  There was so many twists & turns in this book!  I love that so much.  There is 1 thing that I absolutely love a lot, but I can not say (Spoiler).  My daughter is disabled & she takes horseback riding lessons.  Summer Nights is my favorite book in the entire Fool's Gold series!  I give 5 stars!  Way to go Susan Mallery!!


After 8 books, I can finally say I have a favorite.  Summer Nights is my favorite!


My review will be up soon. I will go into more detail than this.  This book really touched my heart.  I want to save it for my Book Review!

Cheering for Summer Nights Part 3

When I went back to Target & KMart, I forgot I had that I had to go to Sam's Club.  Yesterday I finally made it there. 


We had Ashleigh's Birthday Party finally.  We went to Sam's Club to get her cake. Yum!  (sorry no pics of her cake yet.)  
This photo is bad, a little out of focus for me.  I was in a rush.  My friend & I had 5 kids with us.  My 3 + her 2.  We had to get my daughter's cake.  The kids were hungry!  (Some moody!)  

I did this trip to Barnes & Noble another day! No kids!  YEA!!  I spoke with the manager on duty.  He said he had to speak with the corporate about this, but I could leave the bookmarks there, which I did.  Summer Nights was not on the shelve.  Summer Days was.

Cheering for Summer Nights Part 2

This week has been fun!!!

I had all 3 kids with me today since Shawn works on Thursdays!! 


First stop was the dentist! Both Ashleigh & Noah had a dentist appointment.  Routine Dental appointment.  Both kids went back on their own.  Ethan played in their little kids area.  Guess what I did?  Yes, I read Summer Nights!  


The one lady brought Noah out first.  No cavities.  After she was done, I asked her if she read  She does!!  I showed her the bookmark.  I had my ipad on my lap & I was reading Summer Nights.  I told her that, too.  She asked if she could get them from Amazon since she has a Kindle.  I told her that I am reading my in the Kindle app so yes.  I told her that I look at both Amazon & Barnes & Noble price wise, but I go with Amazon most of the time.  She said she is going to get the 3 books from Amazon!  Score!!  Ashleigh came out next & no cavities, but she needs to see an Orthodontist. Again I spoke to her about Fool's Gold, the books, etc.  She does not read, but her mom does.  She is going to give her mom the bookmark!  I also try to schedule their 6 month appointments, but their schedule books do not go that far.  I hand out bookmarks to the office girls & tell them all about Fool's Gold & Summer Days.  I tell them I am in the middle of reading Summer Nights & so far I am loving what I am reading.  Just wish I had more time to read it.  

Today we had to go back to KMart, too, because Summer Nights was not there on Tuesday.  The book rep, Linda, was there.  She is also the same one from Walmart.  I saw her on Tuesday when I was at Walmart.  She asked her boss & everything is ok to be put in & on the books at both Walmart & KMart.  

I was at Target today & spoke with 1 of their managers.  I was only allowed to put the bookmarks & recommend sticker into/onto the books. 

I need a chart to keep this all straight.  


I need to get back to Sam's Club because I forgot about them.  They did not have their Summer Nights out on the shelves.  I will try to get there tomorrow, but it is to be a HOT day.  I am thinking tomorrow night.

We left my sister's house early this morning to go to Fool's Gold, CA.  We are in Evanston, WY.  We are close, but not quite there.  We are really close to the Utah border.  Then, all we have to do is go through Utah, Nevada & some of California.  We will be in Fool's Gold, CA. 


It was 81 today.  Pizza Hut was good before we went to our hotel, Best Western.  The kids had a lot of fun swimming in the pool.

How do you ask?

Here are the rules:

1. Do not use the words more than once.

In the Fool's Gold Titles, we have Perfect, Only, Summer, Fool's Gold, & Almost in more than one title.  You can only use them once!!

2.  Other words not in the titles you can use as often as you like.  This includes "A" even though it is in 2 of the books (#6.1 & #9.5).

3.  It can be about Fool's Gold!!  If it is about Fool's Gold, you can use the entire title & exclude Rule #1.

4. You can split the titles up only if it is duplicate words mentioned in #1.

As a child that came from a home where my mom married a man that was not my dad, I heard a lot it is not Only Yours, His, Mine, but Ours or Us as Mom Always said.  No wonder I was always Chasing Perfect, a saying of my!  

I am always the Sister of the Bride, but when do I find my man I marry?  I would take My almost Mr right!  I am tired of hearing from my sisters about finding the perfect men.  My sisters said that almost summer is the best time to land a man because the days are long & nights are hot.  The Holidays are coming up.  All I want to do is to hide in Fool's Gold & have Christmas there!

What do you think?  I made it up.  My mom only has been married to my dad.  I only have 1 sister.  I have been married for almost 16 years!  lol.  Your turn?  I want to read yours.

Chasing Perfect(ion) all the way to Fool's Gold, CA, Charity finally found her home.  Liz thought she had it Almost Perfect at home before she came to get her nieces, but she found out she did not.  Katie wonder why she has to be the Sister of the Bride now especially since her sister is marrying her ex-boyfriend & isn't there an unwritten rule somewhere that a sister can not do this.  Why is it when you are Finding Perfect you can not find it, but when you stop you can find it which is what I think happened to Pia when she met Raoul.  Dakota wanted something that was Only Mine according to her since she is a Triplet, but do you blame her & can you guess what that is?  The last time Simon has something that was Only His he lost them both, but this time will he allow that to happen again?  Carina loved when it was Only Us according to her when she is with Cameron & his daughter, Kaitlyn, but what will happen when Carina tells Cameron how she feels?  Paige has a visitor, Alistair in time for Almost Summer, but his stay is not permanent or is it?  Heidi loves her Summer Days so she could get up early to tend to her goats!  Shane Stryker finds himself catching up on horse training books at the near by library & nearly runs over Annabelle & since that night, Shane has been going to the library on Summer Nights.  All Summer Long Clay & Charlie could have some fun if their past could let go!  Miracles can happen at a Fool's Gold Christmas when Evie returns home.


I had lots of fun doing these 2.  You do not have to do both.  I hope to see at least the Fool's Gold one!

We went to New Jersey to visit my brother.  It was our first vacation with Ethan.  Ethan was almost 9 months old then.  So little.  It is hard to believe Ethan is now 3 years old & so talkative!  He never is quiet! Noah was 5 & Ashleigh was 9.

I am really looking forward to Summer Nights by Susan Mallery coming out on June 26th.  Have you pre-ordered it?  Are you?  Are you going to get it the day it comes out?  I pre-ordered it.  I can not wait.  We met Shane in Summer Days.  

Here is what Summer Nights is about:

In honor of Summer Nights coming out & of Annabelle (the Librarian) How do you like or love to read books?  In bed?  Curled in your favorite chair?  

I normally wait until the kids are in their beds so I can read in quiet!  I love to read when it is quiet.  I think for this book I will read on our side deck.  It over looks the city.  I think it would be the perfect spot to read Summer Nights.  What do you think?

Next month I will share photos of my older 2 horseback riding in honor of Summer Nights & Shane Stryker!  Ashleigh & Noah are taking a horseback riding camp.  Last year was the first time Noah was ever on a horse & he loved it.  Ashleigh's camp is July 25th & Noah's is July 18th!
