Hi!

I won a copy of Christmas on 4th Street from Harlequin Holiday Giveaway.  I already have this so what should I do with this copy once I get it?

Here is the description of the book from Goodreads:
There's nowhere better to spend the holidays than with New York Timesbestselling author Susan Mallery in the town of Fool's Gold, where love is always waiting to be unwrapped... Noelle Perkins just got a second chance at life, and she intends to make the most of every minute. That's why she ditched a frustrating legal career to open her own store in Fool's Gold, California. The Christmas Attic celebrates everything that's magical about her favorite season. Business is booming, and as a bonus, gorgeous army doctor Gabriel Boylan has offered to help out during the holiday rush.

Gabriel's memories of Christmas past contain more sour grapes than sugar plums, thanks to a drill sergeant father who ran his home like a boot camp. Spending the holidays with his family while he recuperates from injury sounds as appetizing as last year's eggnog. Still, there are some enjoyable distractions in town, including sunny, sexy Noelle...and the red-hot mistletoe kisses they can't stop sharing.

Gabriel didn't think he was made for happily-ever-afters. But when fate hands you a love as sweet and surprising as this, only a fool could refuse...

Comment below if you think I should have another Giveaway!!  It is a really great book.

Hi!

I am still working on several blog posts.  Ever have that feeling of drowning?  That is what I have been having lately.  The kids' new school schedules is taking us longer to get used to.  3 new schools this year.  Well, actually 2.  Earlier to get up for all of us.  More homework than normal, too.  Lots of changes.

I wanted to share a great giveaway at My Book Addiction and More.  Check HERE to enter for the Susan Mallery Fool's Gold Cookbook.  I love love this cookbook.  I have made about 4 or maybe 6 recipes from the cookbook.  I still need to download the photos so I can finish my blog post.  There is a great story in this cookbook, too.

Holidays

Holidays?  I know no one wants to think of this in July, but bear with me.  When I was reading Two of a Kind, this quote got to me.  You see we moved into our first real house, which is thanks to my mother in law.  We have her house.  She moved to sunny South Carolina to retire.  (Having fun down there as always!)  We have a fireplace (not working), but it has been years since we have had one.  I do not know how to decorate it the mantle.  So, this quote before got to me.

"I know what you mean," Patience said.  "I'm going to have to figure out when to start decorating for the various holidays.  It's not anything I had to worry about before."- Page 55 Kindle From Two of a Kind.

I know how to decorate our tree, which we have had for many years.  The kids loves our tree to be crafty!  The kids have made ornaments together for our tree over the years.

I did decorate our mantle, but this year I want to do it better.  Not sure how to do it better, but I will get there.

How do you decorate a mantle if you have one?  Share thoughts.  Links if you find any.  I need all the help I can get.  I do not want to rush Chistmas here because I am no where near ready. We still have to finish summer, back to school (school shopping then back to school), Halloween,  & Thanksgiving before we get to Christmas.  That is too much to get through to get there.  I am tired just thinking about it.

Enjoy your summer because I am!  Mmm, what should I plan for my kids since it is mid-July?  What are you going to plan?

Spiders......No! Please!!

 photo allaboutfoolsgoldspider_zps3fe78aee.jpg

The other day I went into the Holiday room as I call it.  It is a room in our basement where our washer & dryer is located.  We also have our craft table, too.  Plus a bookcase with craft supplies.  Right now this area is under construction since my husband is going to be taking apart an entertainment center & putting together 2 bookcases so it is a mess right now.

So anyway,  I had to go into the Holiday room for something & there they were.

 photo spiders_zps32939cce.jpg
I hate spiders.  Are you with me?  I could not stay in the room with them.  All I could think about is the beginning of Two of a Kind & about Felicia.  lol.  If you have not read it, you need to.  It is so funny.  It is a must read.

To read the excerpt, Click below:

Here is my favorite quote:

Felicia Swift stood immobilized in the corner of the warehouse, aware of the web, of the arachnid watching her, no doubt plotting her downfall. Where there was one female American house spider, there were others and she knew they were all after her.
The still functioning logical part of her brain nearly laughed out loud at her fears. In her head, Felicia understood that spiders did not, in fact, travel in packs or scheme to attack her. But intelligence and logic were no match for a true arachnophobia. She could write papers, prepare flow charts and even do experiments from now until the next appearance of Haley's comet. She was terrified of spiders and they knew it.

That is what I was thinking the entire time I was in the Holiday Room.  Our Holiday Room is called this because all of our holiday items is stored there.  I have to keep everything in totes because if it raining too hard too fast then it can flood, which I am dealing with now.  I was in there mopping out the water when I saw them, the spiders.  I told Shawn I will not go in there since there are spiders!  I am not sure if I can go in there.

Happy Reading!!

Catching up: Day 1 of cheering for Two of a Kind

Two of a Kind came out end of last month, but I have been a bit sick plus with 3 kids and 2 pups time got away from me.  Our older husky was diagnosed with Lymes Disease so he is on antibiotics.  He gets 3 pills at once.  We give it to him in peanut butter, but he is so picky about who he will take it from.  He will not take it from me, but only Noah.  Sometimes it takes us 20 minutes to get him to take it.  We put the peanut butter/pill in something else like rice or a broken bone.

So, back to Cheering!!  This was at Walmart.  I love going to Walmart.  Visiting with the book rep.  I wish every store had a book rep like our Walmart & KMart has.  She is great!!  I give her some bookmarks to hand out to customers.  I thought I took better photos.
 photo twoofakindday1_zpse0ed6459.jpg

On my way to another part of the store, I saw the end cap.
 photo twoofakindday2-2_zpsebb61ae3.jpg

I finished Two of a Kind last night. I loved it. It is one of my favorites. Felicia is a great character, who is very smart, tells you what she is thinking. Not many of us does that. She is very honest. Felicia just wants to fit in. Gideon went through hell and back, but will he realize what is really important before it's too late?

This book is a great read! I highly recommend it.  I am loving Three Little Words!

Happy Reading!

Catching up: Day 2 of Cheering from Just One Kiss

 photo justonekissday2_zpsc32028e6.jpg

This is a bad photo.  Sorry!!  Just One Kiss is in the center top of the photo.  My husband & I took our kids to our one grocery store.  My children make a habit of checking the books for Susan's books.  "Look Mommy there is the book you are reading " says Noah.  Of course, they helped me put the bookmarks into the books!

We finished our shopping.  Happy Reading!

Behind...

I am behind in everything here.  I have to catch up big time.  Too much to do this summer.  Plus I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, "also known as celiac sprue or gluten-sensitive enteropathy -- is a digestive and autoimmune disorder that results in damage to the lining of the small intestine when foods with gluten are eaten. Glutens are a form of protein found in some grains. The damage to the intestine makes it hard for the body to absorb nutrients, especially fat, calcium, iron, and folate."

I have a couple posts with photos from Cheering Days.  One from the first book, Just One Kiss.  A few photos from the second book, Two of a Kind.  Both awesome books to read.  I have one post I can not to post.  I just need to freeze time!  With 3 kids, 2 huskies, me not feeling well, I do not have enough time in the day.  Boy, I wish I lived in Fool's Gold.  I wonder who would come knocking on my door!!  Denise? Mayor Marsha?  You know the Mayor knows everything, which comes to another important question I have.  How does the Mayor knows everything?

Since it is summer, share your favorite memory so far this summer!!

My would have to be going to the zoo with my brother, brother in law, & my kids!

Keep on Reading!

Is your town like Fool's Gold?

One of the Cheerleaders, Dyan, said my town sounds like Fool's Gold.  I took my kids, my friend & her kids to a parade for our Fireman.  It is done every year.  Fire Departments can come from a distance.  This parade can be 2-3 hours depending how many Fire Departments are in it along with EMS, Police, and other different things.  Lowe's was there handling out their fire truck kits.  The kids will be building them with their dad.

I started thinking that yes, my town does sound like Fool's Gold.  In the Spring, we have Kaleidoscope Arts Festival, which I have never gone to, but I will have to check it out.

In our Downtown area, they shut down a side street so they could have Friday Night Concerts.  Not sure what else they do in that area.

This weekend is the Jeep Festival where all the Jeep owners shows off their Jeeps.  It is in 2 different locations.  I don't know much about this Festival since I have not gone to it, but I think their Jeeps do get dirty!!

I took the kids to a Kids Day.  It was where our Farm Show is handled.  The kids had a lot of fun.

We have A Big Fair every July.  We also have a Farm Show every August.  My grandfather used to have his horses pull in a contest there.  He spent so many hours training his horses and traveling around to different Farm Shows in our area.  We also have The Lake's Regatta, too, in August.  I love taking the kids to that especially if they set up the Hot Air Balloons!

In the Fall, there is a Farm Tour.  In the Downtown area, we have a Fall Festival where there are a lot of vendors with tons of food and things they sell.  The main street is closed off.

How is your town like Fool's Gold?  I would love to hear it.

Favorite Things about Fool's Gold!!

I have loved the Fool's Gold Series since I read book 1, Chasing Perfect, when I read about Charity Jones when she came to Fool's Gold.  I was hooked.  I could not wait until I read all of the books.  But, why?  Here are my 5 favorite things about Fool's Gold

1. The People (Who's Who in Fool's Gold?)
Who is your favorite family?
The Hendrix? Stryker? McGraw?

2. The Town

3. The Mayor, Masha Tilson
I want to know how she knows everything in her town.  Think about it.  Does she have her town bugged?  No!  She reminds me of Gibbs of NCIS.  He knows everything that goes on with everyone on his team.  Mmm!

4. The Festivals

5. The Lake
I love going to our lake to have a picnic, to get great photos of the kids, to have the kids play, etc.

What are your Favorite Things about Fool's Gold? Let me know.

Moving to FG: Montana's Help

For those of you that just joined us, we have 2 huskies.  Zeus is 7.  He is my follower or more like shadow!!  Zeus is very well behaved, but he is on meds for separation anxiety and now can be loose in the house without destroying it.  Before without meds, Zeus had to be crated, but that did not work so well.  He is to my left of me on my bed right now!!  Bolt was born on Christmas Day, 2011.  He is my son's pup!  He is still a pup to me.  OMG, Bolt is so hyper!!  He does not listen at times, but we still love him a lot.

I need to replace Bolt's tags since he chewed them!  Yes, you read that properly.  He chewed them.  I need to get his name tag replaced, but his rabies & license tags will not be on his collar.

I need Bolt to calm down a little bit.  I have been having Noah bond more with Bolt.  It has been working really well.  They have been going outside playing or they play inside.  Bolt loves his toys.  I think the next thing I try to hide some bones once I get some small ones.

What Bolt does:
1. He jumps over you when you sit on the couch at times.
2. He has messes at times on the second floor or in Ethan's room (third floor).

What would Montana tell me about Bolt?
1. I think Montana would tell me to be patient with Bolt.
2. to give him time
3. not to yell, & don't punish.
4. Take him out every hour.
I am looking into get a dog trainer to help me with Bolt.  I am having some issues with our schedule, but I will find one.  Wish me luck!!

Hi!

I took a few days away because I have been in a lot of pain.  I saw my pain management doctor earlier in the week and was told I have inflammation in my lower back-tailbone area.  I still managed to get out to cheer!!  GO SUSAN!!  I have been resting as much as I can.  Trying to get the swelling down.  If I do too much, it hurts to walk.  It is just something I have gotten used to.  I overdid it the week before cheering started and now I am playing for it.

I forgot to post about my trip to Target the week that Just One Kiss was released.  Let me know if you brought it.  I would love to hear from you.  I love the book!!  Have you?  What did you think of Justice & Patience?  Did you love their characters?

I am off to catch up.

Best Kiss Ever (Blog Hop)

 photo Bloghop_zpsbb2bf96b.jpg
I just wanted to say thank you for coming to our Blog Hop.  I hope you are enjoying reading everyone's Best Kiss Ever.  I really hope you join us in our Blog Hop.

In honor of being a Fool's Gold Cheerleader, I wanted to do something wonderful to get the word out about Susan's Mallery's new book, Just One Kiss that just was released.  What a better way to do it than a Blog Hop!!  It is a party on the internet.  We-Cheerleaders- hope you will join us, too.  Get those fingers typing on your blog then come back to this HERE to add your link.  It is that simple.  Just make sure that you are blogging about our theme: Best Kiss Ever.

Off to My Best Kiss Ever.

Let's Go back a step.  How I met my husband.

No, we are not high school sweethearts.  No, we did not meet in high school like Patience & Justice did in Just One Kiss.  We went to different high schools.  I almost went to Shawn's high schools, but we moved out of the city where Shawn went when I was in after I was in 8th grade.  We moved to the country.  I always wondered what if we did not move.  What if we moved to another house in the same school district?  Would I met Shawn or one of his friends then him?  Do you know that I knew one of his friends in college?  Yuck, I dated him, too!  (That is for another blog post)

When I was in college, I took a job at a grocery store during breaks.  My best friend, Sandy, was dating, a guy name Tim (She married him 3 weeks after I married Shawn--Our daughters are 10 days apart, too!!)  Well, Tim wanted to set me up with Shawn.  I was dating this guy at the time so I said no.  Eventually, I did say yes.  I told Sandy that go ahead & set me up with Shawn.  We met on a blind date.  No photos, etc.  Our first date was this Carnival here.  When I was young, I went to it all the time.  Well, we were only there 10 minutes.  Yes, 10 minutes!!  Just say when you are a child you see things differently!! We went back to his place & watched movies.

My second kiss with Shawn or maybe it was the third was magical.  Hey, I have to think back almost 20 years here.  I can still remember it like it was yesterday.  It was that kind of kiss that catches your breathe.  That stops you in your tracks.  I knew then that this guy was something special.

I hope you join us in our Blog Hop about "Best Kiss Ever"

Blog Hop: Just One Kiss Excerpt

I could not fit this within the Blog Hop Post so I am putting it here.
The Theme of the Blog Hop is "Best Kiss Ever."
 photo Bloghop_zpsbb2bf96b.jpg

Here is the Just One Kiss Excerpt:

Patience opened her eyes as she tried to regain her balance. Warm, strong arms came around her. Justice pulled her so close, she had no choice but to settle against him. One second she was in danger of falling and the next she was staring up into his dark blue eyes. Her head was still spinning, but this time for a very different reason.
She rested her hands on his shoulders because it seemed the most sensible place for them to be. She saw sunlight streaming through the bare windows and tiny dust motes floating in the air. Felt her heart beating too quickly and the intensity of Justice's gaze.
Then he was lowering his head. She had only a second to catch her breath before his mouth brushed against hers.
His lips were firm. Not unyielding, exactly, but determined. He was taking charge and under the circumstances, she was good with that. She'd had enough responsibility in her life, thank you very much.
He moved his mouth slowly, gently, exploring, testing, as if he enjoyed what he was doing. She sank into him, giving herself up to the delicious pressure.
She hadn't been kissed by a man in a long time. Years, actually. She'd nearly forgotten the thrill of the closeness, the quivering in her belly, the hint that there could be more and that the more could take her breath away.

Susan Mallery's Just One Kiss: Long-Lost Loves

Long-Lost Loves
By Susan Mallery
With more than 25 million books sold worldwide, New York Times bestselling author Susan Mallery is known for creating characters who feel as real as the folks next door, and for putting them into emotional, often funny situations readers recognize from their own lives. Susan’s books have made Booklist’s Top 10 Romances list in four out of five consecutive years. RT Book Reviews says, “When it comes to heartfelt contemporary romance, Mallery is in a class by herself.” With her popular, ongoing Fool’s Gold series, Susan has reached new heights on the bestsellers lists and has won the hearts of countless new fans.
Susan grew up in southern California, moved so many times that her friends stopped writing her address in pen, and now has settled in Seattle with her husband and the most delightfully spoiled little dog who ever lived. Visit Susan online at www.SusanMallery.com.

Remember that boy from high school, the one who you thought about while listening to romantic songs on the radio, by yourself, in the dark, sobbing because he didn’t return your feelings? Remember how seeing him in the hallways at school made your breath catch in your throat? And if he caught your gaze and smiled at you, your spirits soared.

Remember him?

What if he was your best friend? And what if you went to his house before school one day so you could walk together as you always did… only he was gone?

Gone-gone. The doors were open, the closets were empty, and you never saw him again. He just… disappeared.

That’s what happened to Patience McGraw when she was a teen. As JUST ONE KISS begins 15 years later, Patience is at work in a salon in Fool’s Gold, California when Justice returns.

                "Patience?"
She didn't recognize the male voice, but turned anyway. A man stood in the entrance of the shop. He was tall, with dark gold-blond hair and deep blue eyes. His shoulders were broad and he had the kind of face that would be happy up on a movie screen. Nice, but she had no idea who he...
She felt the cape flutter to the floor as she really looked at the man moving toward her. He was a few inches taller, a lot more muscular, but his eyes... They were exactly the same. They even crinkled when he smiled at her.
                "Hello, Patience."
She was fourteen again, standing in that empty house, more scared than she'd ever been in her life. There hadn't been any answers. Not then or since. No solution to the mystery. Just questions and a gnawing sense that something had gone terribly wrong.
"Justice?" she asked, her voice more breath than sound. "Justice?"
He gave her a slight shrug. The familiar gesture was enough to send her flying across the shop. She flung herself at him, determined to hang on this time.
He caught her against him and held on to her nearly as tightly as she held on to him. He was warm and solid and real. She pressed her head against his shoulder and inhaled the scent of him. A clean, masculine smell that had nothing to do with the boy she remembered. This wasn't happening, she thought, still dazed. Justice couldn't be back.
Yet he was, and here. But the man was very different from the boy and the moment got awkward quickly.

Justice has returned to Fool’s Gold to open a bodyguard academy with a few of his ex-military buddies. (This is Fool’s Gold, where we go light on danger and heavy on humor, charm, and fun, flirty romance.) Justice leapt at the chance to return to the town that took him in at a very tense point in his life, and he was eager to see Patience again, his sassy, beautiful friend.

She’s just as open-hearted as she was back then, unstained by the darkness in the world, darkness he lives with every day. The moment Justice holds her in his arms, he vows to protect her from himself. Patience is everything good and pure in the world, and he won’t ruin that. She draws him like sunlight on a cold day, but though he can’t resist the need to be near her, to kiss her, he won’t allow himself to fall in love.

Are you still in touch with the boy or boys you had a crush on in high school? Did they grow up to be as cute as you thought they would?

Day 1 of Cheering!!

Happy Day!!  Today has finally arrived!! I can not believe that it is the end of May.  My older 2 kids will be out of school before I know it.  My first stop was Sam's Club.  I was so surprised.  Last year they had the most books, but this year they had zero.  I was told they downsized their books because their books were not selling.  They went from their book shelves to a table.  I spoke with a couple at Walmart, who brought all of his books at Sam's Club and now they have to go to Walmart so they are not very happy about it.  Sam's Club was not a wasted trip.  My daughter will be 13 next week so I ordered her cakes (yes cakes) & her cupcakes for her class.  I need 2 cakes because of  her actual birthday & the day of her surprise party.  Before I left I talked to a friend of Shawn's family & talked about Just One Kiss.  I gave out some goodies!

The next stop was Walmart.  Love stopping here because of the Book Rep, Linda.  We talked about Susan Mallery.  I told her about Just One Kiss, the Bodyguards!!  I told her about Sam's Club & she told me how she was downsized a little, too.  While I was there, I was chatting with some customers, & handing out bookmarks.

I brought Noah a book about a Military Working Dog & his handler.  Noah can not wait to read it.  I thought maybe he might want to read it with Shawn.  I am trying to get him excited about reading again.  Noah lost some interest, but I know he will get it back.

My last stop was Target.  I did not have much time there because I had to get home to get Shawn and Ethan before we got Ash & Noah from school.  Shawn's car broke down on Sunday & it was ready at the shop.  I had to pick up a few things at Target.  Target is the only store I have seen that has the New @ sign.

I had a great day cheering on my own!!!  If you pick up Just Once Kiss, let me know.  I get points.  I would love to talk about the book.  What you love?  Who is your favorite character?

Night all!  I am off to read more of Just One Kiss.  By now, I am using done with it, but I have been reorganizing my house for summer.

Just One Kiss comes out Tuesday!!

Just One Kiss comes out Tuesday, May 28.  Have you pre-ordered it?  I have.  This book is so good.  I got an advance copy since I am a Fool's Gold cheerleader.  Let me know if you pre-ordered it.  I get points for it.  Most importantly I want to chat about the book.  I do not want to get away any spoilers for those who have not read the book yet.  I want to know what you love about the book!  Tell me!  Us cheerleaders want to know.

So, onto the book that is coming out finally:

Just One Kiss
Coming Soon: May 28, 2013
Just One Kiss (Fool's Gold, #11)
According to Goodreads, "He won't hesitate to put his life on the line...but will he ever risk his heart?
Falling for Justice Garrett was a high point in Patience McGraw's otherwise awkward adolescence. Even after he disappeared, Patience never forgot the boy who captured her heart. Now, he's back in Fool's Gold, California, and her passion for him is as strong as ever. But how can she trust that he won't abandon her again-and her daughter, too?

When bodyguard Justice Garrett was a young man, witness protection brought him to this idyllic town and he never forgot its warmth, or the sweet beauty of his childhood friend. He's returned to open a defense academy, and the Patience he once knew is all grown up. He can't resist her smile, or her curves. But Justice's past doesn't make him husband, or father, material.

Patience and Justice think they'll succumb to just one kiss... Then one more... Okay, just one night together. But they might learn that falling in love is beyond anyone's control."

I have not posted a review yet, but I will once I finish reading it.  I have been reading the series called Cedar Cove by Debbie Macomber so I can get ready for the tv series this summer.  It is another series I love.  What can I say?  I fell in love with series with Susan Mallery!!

Keep on Reading!!
